I found this place through a post in cf_hardcore. Luckily I looked through the comments to that post- I almost created a similar community myself. Now I don't have to! Yay!
Anyway, here's a bit about me, including a picture.
My husband chibi_oneiros (also known as Toby) and I will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary on August 13th. We've been together for seven years, now, and have two cats and four rats. Also a betta. I don't know why, 'cause I don't like fish all that much, but there you have it. We had a California King snake named Oswald, but I ended up giving him to my little brother for his 15th birthday.
We live on the second floor of an old Victorian house in Morgantown, West Virginia. (The civilized part of the state... ;P) He's going to grad school at WVU for his Masters, and will eventually go for his PhD. He wants to work with historical buildings and things. I've got two years of pre-vet under my belt, and keep telling myself I'll go back once he's done with school. I love my major, but hate academia.
The family has finally stopped with the baby questions. His father actually said he's not eager to hear the pitter patter of little feet, which made me happy. My mother is coming to terms with it- I know she'd like grandkids, but she knows of and respects my wishes to be sterilized. Both sets of parents spoil the grandkitties, but the rats will take some getting used to. : )
Here's a picture of us at Valley Falls after our wedding:
The wedding took place in the courthouse with only close friends and family. The youngest person there was my little brother, who acts like he's 20 already. We had our reception at the Quaker Meeting house, and basically had a cookout with everybody from the ceremony. It was a lot of fun, and a little bit stressful 'cause my mom brings that out in me... We didn't have any issues with keeping kids out, possibly because we really don't know anyone who has a very small child, and because I don't get along with the majority of my family, so they weren't even invited. This was also before I started my current job, so I didn't know my coworkers with children. I really feel bad for anyone who has the added stress of keeping kids out of their ceremony. If you ever need a bouncer, I'm here for you. ^_^
That's a pretty good background on the two of us. We're both on the "loathing children" side of things. Sadly we haven't been able to experience the DINK thing, as while we're both working, we're still very poor. At least we know the money is being spent on us and not leeching children.
